There’s nothing out of the ordinary about this shot but when I saw these gentlemen making their way up the beach at 10 a.m. on a Thursday morning a bunch of different things started going through my head. Here was a group of men who, based on how relaxed and comfortable they appeared to be together, were friends. These were not your typical 20-something surfers, either. These men were older and probably have wives and kids, maybe even grown kids. As they got closer I could hear them laughing and talking and the boards they carried had seen a lot of use. Their relaxed, comfortable demeanor made me think that this is probably something they do together regularly.
Here was a group of grown men that made the time on a weekday morning to get together and go surfing. They took the time out of their day to do something for themselves and do something they obviously loved doing. It was then that I had the famous ‘ah ha’ moment:
If this group of grown men can make time in their day for themselves, then why the heck can’t I?
I haven’t really done anything in a long time just for me. Life always gets in the way. So I am making a vow to myself that atleast once a month I will do something just for me. Not for the kids. Not for the husband. Not for anyone. Just me. I have no idea what I will do with my ‘me’ time yet, but I will. I promise.

Oh such a perfect post for a mommy blogger! Loved this shot…me time is so critical, I’m a better mommy, wife and friend when I have my time. I always say “I thrive on me time!”

gorgeous post
Me time is so important ( though I think mostly men always manage to have their metime better than mums do)

Enjoy your ‘me’ time, everyone needs it, so few moms take it. Knowing you, you’ll probably document it, lol, can’t wait to see!

Great photo and I agree about the ‘me’ time. It’s so good for the soul. Don’t over think it, just go with it when the time comes. You’ll know what to do with it. =]

Good for you. It works, I promise it does.
My Me Time = quiet time, usually. I feel so much better after it.

I cherish my me time – at then end of the day when I upload my photos and do whatever Meme it is that day – that’s MY me time – and then I blog too if it’s been an interesting day

I usually put ‘me’ time on the back burner…I try to sneak some time in the mornings while I eat breakfast and check my email. I find it easier making time for others and also need to find more time for just me. Nice pic!
